Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, downstream applications you will provide your leadership and vision to a team of resources (internal and outsourced) dedicated to supporting our Petro-Canada sales and marketing business applications. You will ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance targets are being met with our outsourced partners and your internal team, as well as providing daily oversight to the workload of the business applications including: operations support, small demand, project advisement and other change requests.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide continued support and oversight of your team and our outsourced partners including helping to prioritize work, removing barriers and ensuring minimal disruption to retail operations
  • Act as the key position for any business application opportunities or issues, and as a conduit for our Information and Process Management (I&PM) partners and the downstream business as it relates to the business applications
  • Provide guidance and influence  to our solution design team for all business applications within the portfolio and work closely with our infrastructure group to support and understand the setup of the environments
  • Engage with project teams at all relevant gate reviews to provide direction and help ensure and improve the readiness of operations teams for sustainment operations
  • Work with internal business partners on initiative planning and priority setting, and critical issues
  • Review break/fix and problem management root cause analysis and escalation
  • Provide non-authoritative leadership with our quality assurance (QA) team on changes in the system and testing requirements
  • Work with operations service on software contract renewals
  • Participate in lifecycle management
  • Ensure work meets all compliance standards such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), SOX, and enterprise architecture standards

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Seven or more progressive years of experience in IT Operations, including proven leadership and vendor management experience
  • You have knowledge and experience in managing and/or leading operations support  of retail or wholesale applications, or working with multiple integrated applications 
  • Bachelors of computer science or engineering is strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • You are knowledgeable in infrastructure and network principles
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Service Now is beneficial
  • Ability to respond to and lead multiple requests from several business and I&PM teams and prioritize accordingly with exceptional client and customer service skills
  • You have excellent leadership with good communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills to work effectively with diverse groups
  • You  have the ability to make independent decisions  and influence business decisions for positive outcomes

Working Conditions

  • We are currently recruiting for multiple team leader positions in this group
  • Occasional travel offsite to gas station locations for support or vendor offices for meetings
