Occupational Health Nurse

LOCATION: Montreal, Quebec (CA-QC)

SALARY INFORMATION: Temporary position $55-57/hr

Are you a registered nurse with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills? Do you have experience in emergency response? We are looking for an individual who is passionate in providing exceptional care as a nurse at our Montreal refinery. In this temporary role (until December 2022), you will work with the on-site Occupational Health Nurse and ensure the quality, integrity, and value of health services while working with a team of Occupational Health and Safety professionals.


You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide assessment and treatment of ill or injured workers
  • Execute wellness strategies and initiatives while ensuring a high standard of quality, integrity and value of our health services
  • Support health surveillance programs, including conducting health assessments (medical examinations of new hires) confirming fitness for duty
  • Support and lead the execution of wellness and education/training strategies
  • Collect and analyze comprehensive medical information and confidential medical records
  • Support disability case management and facilitate return to work programs
  • Liaise and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Bilingual (English & French)
  • A post-secondary education in nursing
  • Licence to practice in Quebec and hold a current registration with the College of Nurses in Quebec (OIIQ)
  • Understanding of health and wellness programs, including support of medical surveillance and wellness programs
  • Exceptional first aid proficiency with an ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Previous experience in a similar position or experience supervising industrial health & safety programs
  • Experience conducting new hire medicals
  • Occupational Nurse Certification or working towards obtaining one
  • Experience with SAP or Cority

  • You will work out of our Montreal Refinery, located at 11701, rue Sherbrooke Est
  • This is a casual position and you may be called upon to shift focus or take on additional or alternative initiatives and/or priorities
