You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop your knowledge in a heavy industry environment such as refining
  • Learn the codes and laws that govern us 
  • Understand and apply the safety rules for our refinery
  • Participate in small projects (short and long term) in monitoring material degradation related to our facilities according to the cases in progress (sulfidation, wet H2S, HTHA, external corrosion etc.)
  • Assist Suncor Inspector, Contract Inspector and Corrosion Specialist for corrosion follow-ups
  • Verify radiography
  • Analyze, compile, and classify data
  • Work with external contractors
  • Verify and collect data in the field with other inspectors and/or corrosion specialist

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Student in Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgical)
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and professional manner
  • Strong focus on execution with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve the best results and maximize the value of the work
  • Constantly seeks to expand knowledge of systems, processes and hazards in the workplace to understand not only the nature of the work but also its purpose

* Must be enrolled in an accredited academic institution and returning to full time studies after the work term. *

Fluent in French – please submit your resume in French *

 

Preference for:

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience with SAP (for reporting, history and recommendation), Plant corrosion management system (PCMS) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
  • Good knowledge of English

  • This is a 4 month work term starting in January 2022
  • You will work out of our Montréal office, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East
