You will use your expertise to:

  • Monitor actual expenditure and progress against approved funding while consolidating project execution metrics, including cost and schedule performance
  • Develop resource loaded schedules from project plans, updating progress throughout the project execution
  • Understand all of our project phases, activities performed in each phase and deliverables at the end of each phase
  • Consolidate cost and schedule information from various sources to facilitate the monthly review of each project
  • Reviewing project performance and identifying trends in cost or schedule variances
  • Build strong positive relationships while providing Project Managers and Coordinators with the most recent information regarding the capital project to facilitate decision-making
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities focused on changes to business practices and procedures to better reflect project reporting needs
  • Coordinate changes in project controls processes, systems, and procedures

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years related experience with proficiency in basic project controls processes
  • Proficiency with Project Management Processes
  • Proven advanced non-authoritative leadership skills to influence and manage diverse groups
  • Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • A post-secondary education with project management training
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Primavera and SAP
  • A highly motivated individual with continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical skills and decision-making capacity

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • You thrive in a dynamic work environment with multiple priorities, challenging demands, and strict deadlines
