Do you have a strong background in material control and material purchasing and want to join a small and highly effective supply chain management team that supports our East Coast’s Exploration and Production operations? We are looking for a hard-working, highly motivated, self-starter to join our new St. John’s office and apply procurement concepts to best execute complex daily work activities.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Liaise between supplier, requester and engineering for purchasing activities
  • Manage our Terra Nova supplier relationships and interfaces
  • Ensure all procurement activities are aligned with supply chain management, the business unit strategy and the procurement plan
  • Assist with the development and administration of all Terra Nova material frame agreements
  • Ensure outstanding purchase orders are expedited as dictated by operational requirements
  • Stay current with changing market conditions and technology improvements
  • Work with freight forward service provider

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Four years of experience in material control and material purchasing
  • Four years of experience working with computerized material management systems within procurement modules
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships in order to interact effectively with business partners and suppliers
  • Effective decision-making judgment and ability to process when work activities 
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • A business or engineering degree or a technologist diploma
  • Procurement experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Experience with SAP

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our new St. John’s office, located at 130 Kelsey Drive
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You are required to be on call 24/7 for a period of seven days, answering requests that support the ongoing Terra Nova operations
