Job Overview

Reporting to the east coast joint venture (JV) geology and geophysics team lead, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling and completion engineers and technologists working to maintain and grow production from our East Coast Canada assets (approximately 50,000 bbl/d net SU).

Key Accountabilities

  • Optimize and grow production from partner-operated and operated fields by supporting in field and near field growth opportunities
  • Interpret well and seismic data including 2D, 3D as well as 4D volumes
  • Monitor partner-operated and/or operated drilling programs and influence operator when required
  • Provide geophysical interpretations and data to support creation and quality control of geomodels for reservoir simulation
  • Perform deterministic and probabilistic hydrocarbon volume and risk analyses of pools and prospects in Jeanne d’Arc basin, and as project geophysicist be an integral contributor to subsurface peer reviews
  • Provide geophysical interpretations and data to support development opportunities within our existing fields,  as well as exploration landsale and farm-in investment decisions
  • Interface, influence and align with partners

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years of geophysical experience in development and/or exploration
  • Prior offshore development experience would be an asset
  • Familiarity with offshore 3D and 4D interpretation would be a beneficial asset
  • Degree in geophysics or geology or earth science

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient with Petrel and  Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of GeoTeric, HampsonRussell, RokDok, Reserves Evaluation Programme (REP)
  • Able to apply and integrate various geoscience datasets and skillsets, including seismic interpretation, wells, and production to offshore investment decisions
  • Exceptional organization skills, and ability to work and thrive in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong sense of ownership, with demonstrated interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to lead multiple and changing priorities under tight deadlines with strong decision-making skills
  • Solid leadership and communication skills to interact with all functions and levels of leadership
  • Understand complex processes, and strive to develop and implement continuous improvement and operational discipline
