You will use your expertise to:

  • Integrate surface and subsurface data into cross-section and mapping products
  • Develop familiarity of project area and interval(s) of interest through searches of existing publications and reports
  • Interpret the well log, well test and/or core, or seismic information to describe interval(s) of interest
  • Create various subsurface maps to describe geographic distribution of interval(s) of interest
  • Synthesize findings into summary reports, including recommendations for future work

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Currently enrolled in a formal 3rd or 4th year Geology program at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Attach your transcripts with your application and clearly indicate the length of work term for which you are available
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Previous work experience in the oil and gas field
  • Working knowledge of Petrel and Accumap

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W., our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta, or out of our MacKay River site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs and may vary based on location
  • This is for a 8 or 12-month role starting in May 2022
